Verses 38-40Verses 36-37

The Believer's argument did prevent the king from killing Moses, but did not dismount him from the Ass of Satan, and Devilish pride. Any how, he did not submit to his Merciful Creator, and ruined himself as well as his folk and host. He said:-

``O, Hämän! Build me a tower that I may get access to some means of ascension to the skies, to know something about the Lord of Moses, though i am sure there exists not such a God, and Moses is a liar.''

It does not seem that the king was so foolish to believe in such an ascension. He probably must have said or done so, by demagogue, in order to win the people's support against Moses, by deception and using emotional tactics.

To prove that he was a man of logic and reason; through his materialistic insight, he compared the kingdom of heavens with his own kingdom, and the spiritual matters in terms of building, tower, and palaces!

He has already confessed in the above verse that in his sight, Moses is a liar; but still to throw some dust upon the eyes of those who criticised him, or those who were more arrogant than him, he asked for a high tower to be built. His arrogance made him to find his foolish deeds alluring, which brought him to such a silly pass.
