Verses 60-64Verses 56-59

When finally we are confronted with the ugly consequences of our deeds, we may say:-

``Would that I had another chance in order to amend my deeds.''

This is however not true, because we were given many chances before, and we spoiled them all! What sort of a guarantee is there to support the idea that, we won't fail again? God's revelation and signs came to us, but we paid no heed, by our haughtiness.

When we stand before the seat of judgement, regret and repentance will have no use. What is the use of saying Alas! Woe is me for my short comings, or to say, ``Had Allah guided me I would have been of the virtuous. Or what is the use of plea for a new chance which is then impossible to obtain?

We did have God's revelation and guidance for many long years, but we took them for play; and we trod the way of poor unbelievers. We saw and heard many signs of God, but how was our reactionِ?ِ a perfunctoryِwe showed no care nor interest!
