HOW DID THE TRUTH WIN? (VERSES NO. 113 - 122)

The most skilled sorcerers of Egypt came in the field of contest, with the promise of Pharaoh to give them the best of rewards. Tens of thousands of the Egyptains were also invited to watch the vital combat.

Moses and his brother alone were put in competition against the most skillful magicians of Egypt. The sorcerers proceeded with pride and arrogance for having the king and all the Egyptains as support and favorings. On the other side, Moses and his brother stood calm and confident, and let the sorcerers do their best and have their innings first, and play their tricks by all means.

The two men were with God, and had committed themselves to His care.

The magicians cast their rods and ropes, containing some sort of chemicals, which they could change shapes and move on, when exposed to the heat of sun rays.

Their trickery deceived people's eyes and made a great impression on the people:

``and we inspired to Moses; cast your staff and then it will swallow up what they fabricated falsely.''

The staff of Moses which was a simple shepherd's crook with which he used to feed his flock, was the symbol of his authority and a sign of his prophet hood, When Moses threw his stick, God turned it to a fierce dragon! It strangely swallowed all the trickeries and falsehood of the magicians! So Moses with God's Grace, managed to expose the deceptive falsehood, and to establish the truth. This was a fatal blow and a breaking shock, that hit the throne of Pharaoh, because the sorcerers recognized the truth with Moses, and sincerely returned to their Lord God who created them:

``And the sorcerers fell down in prostration to celebrate the praise of God saying: We believe in the Lord of all the worlds - the Lord of Moses and Aaron.''

This unexpected incident could not be anticipated by Pharaoh and his ministers! So were they all struck with astonishment! Pharaoh lost his control and was filled with rage.
